[22] Dans van de Tritons (Gavotte, Ms Finspong)
Neptunus wordt gevolgd door zijn tritons, zeewezens die half mens, half vis zijn. Neptunus draagt ze op hun kinkhoorns te laten klinken. Dat zijn grote gedraaide schelpen waarin vissers een gat maken zodat ze erop kunnen blazen, om te gebruiken als misthoorns. Buysero schrijft een over eenstemming van Muzyk, als kromhoorens voor, waar op drie Tritons dansen. Wij hebben een echte schelp (koninginnehoren, lobatus gigas) gebruikt, begeleid door twee hobo's en een fagot.
Dance Of The Tritons
Neptune is followed by his tritons, sea creatures that are half man, half fish. Neptune orders them to sound their conch-shell horns. These are large twisted shells in which fisherman make a hole so that they can blow on them to use as foghorns. Buysero calls for multipart music, using for example krummhorns, to which three Tritons dance. We use here a real shell (queen conch shell, lobatus gigas), accompanied by two oboes and a bassoon.
