Het B-rijm is in alle strofen hetzelfde.
De Coussemaker merkt op in zijn commentaar bij het liedje "Een kalemanden rok", op de melodie "Het carillon van Duinkerken", dat er een treffende gelijkenis is met de eerste melodie uit "De carneval van Roomen". Dat geldt in zekere zin voor de derde liedregel.
